Meet Sarah

Certified Somatic and ADHD Coach

Leaves Shadow _edited.jpg

My journey began as a teenager when I faced and successfully recovered from a long-term critical illness. This life-changing experience ignited my passion for supporting others through the mental, emotional, and physical challenges of pain and illness towards healing and recovery.

Discovering ways to regulate my own nervous system through somatic techniques, exercise, diet, and meditation, I experienced profound changes — not just in the physical symptoms I was living with, but also in releasing underlying emotional stress. More recently, receiving an adult ADHD diagnosis added a new layer of understanding about how my brain and nervous system respond to stress, focus, and emotional regulation. This insight has deepened my empathy for clients navigating similar challenges. I also work with clients with ADHD through the UK Government’s Access to Work programme, providing tailored coaching to support workplace focus, stress management, and resilience.

I have been fortunate to spend many years living and working across Eastern and Southern Africa, immersing myself in the rich cultures of indigenous tribes and documenting their stories of wisdom for the national press. This extraordinary journey deepened my understanding of humanity’s connection to the natural world.

During my time in the African bush, I observed wildlife with fascination, studying their innate responses to their environment. One profound lesson I learned came from watching animals’ natural ability to reset their nervous systems. After a 'fight or flight' response, such as escaping a predator, they would instinctively shake their bodies, releasing tension and restoring balance.

This simple yet powerful act highlights something we as humans have largely forgotten: how to respond naturally to the stress in our own lives. My experiences taught me how essential it is to reconnect with this wisdom and explore effective ways to bring harmony to the mind and body — especially for those of us managing ADHD, anxiety, or nervous system dysregulation.

How I Work

I offer a non-judgemental space for you to feel safe just as you are. All feelings are welcome. This will be an experiential space for self-study to deepen your embodied awareness skills. My work as a Somatic Coach is about life-optimisation, not only for health and well-being, but also for personal growth and spiritual evolution.  I focus on an integral, embodied and heart-centred approach that nurtures body, mind, heart and spirit. I aim to empower individuals to transition from coping and survival to thriving and flourishing.

My philosophy

My philosophy is to engage with my client on a journey of interaction and integration. This leads to a sense of empowerment where you feel able to carry forward your own personal healing journey after an agreed number of sessions. Somatic Coaching is the catalyst that makes this possible.

When our Body-Mind becomes regulated, our nervous systems experience homeostasis. In practice, this means that we become more deeply embodied, heart-centred, earth-connected, resilient, spiritually awake and fulfilled. Somatic coaching and hands-on body work turns the nervous system into an ally rather than an enemy.

I am passionate about the integration of neuroscience and positive psychology with ancestral and contemplative wisdom in order to benefit as many people as possible.

One of the key things learnt on my personal journey is that true wisdom awakens when we find our unique purpose in life and how we can offer these gifts to be of service in the world.

I take great pride and joy in walking with you on a Somatic journey to discover your gifts and re-awaken your wisdom within.

Where I Work

I work online on Zoom as well as in-person at The Open Door Natural Health & Wellbeing Centre in Lewes, East Sussex, UK.

Somatic Coaching can be just as effective online as it is in person. This is because the important conversation is not so much between me and you as between you and your experience. If we are working online, please ensure you are in a confidential space, where you can be free to move and the camera has a good headshot of you including at least your shoulders.
